Can't give Rs 4 lakh to kin of those died of Covid under Disaster Management Act: Centre tells Supreme Court

The central government on Sunday filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court after responding to petitions seeking ex-gratia and compensation of Rs 4 lakhs to family members of deceased who died due to Covid-19.The Centre informed the top court that it would not be able to give Rs 4 lakh compensation to kin of each person who died of Covid under the Disaster Management Act.
