Free vaccine, food will cost govt Rs 1 lakh crore over budgeted outlay

The Centre’s vaccine bill is expected to climb to Rs 45,000-50,000 crore, against the budgeted Rs 35,000 crore, as production of anti-Covid shots increases and the government takes on the task of procuring and supplying 75% of domestically made shots.
